A&K hobby's 2nd Annual Custom Truck Build Off

A&K hobby is proud to announce our 2nd Annual Custom Truck Build Off for charity. We welcome all custom truck builders and collectors to participate in this friendly competition for a wonderful cause. Prizes will be awarded for various categories. The winning trucks will be on display at the 17th Annual National Toy Truck 'N Construction Show in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 17th, 18th, and & 19th. All participant registrations must be received by March 1st.

 We are asking that each participant donate their custom truck entry to be auctioned on eBay the week following the Indianapolis toy show. All proceeds from the truck auctions will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

Rules:

1. All interested participants must send an email to angela@akhobby.com. Please put "Custom Truck Build Off" in the subject line of your email. You will then receive a registration form to be completed and returned to A&K hobby. The registration deadline is March 1st, 2007. Please Note: All employees of A&K hobby are not eligible to participate for prizes, but are encouraged to build a custom truck to be included in the eBay custom truck auction.
2. All custom truck entries must be in either 1/64 or 1/53 scale of any tractor and trailer combination that you choose. Prizes will be awarded in each scale. A minimum of 5 entries in each scale is necessary for prizes to be awarded. If there are not at least 5 entries in each scale, that category will be cancelled and the participant will be given the opportunity to change the scale of their custom truck entry.
3. Prizes and categories will be announced as soon as the prize list has been finalized and will be determined by the number of participants, and the diecast scale of their entry. We are hoping to include prize values from $25-$100 in each category. Part of the criteria for judging will be based on detail, originality, and creativity.
4. All entries must be of a truck customized by the participant. We will not accept any basic manufacturer truck entries, nor will we accept any entries purchased from a custom truck builder and entered under a different participant name for the contest. In short, YOU MUST BUILD YOUR OWN CUSTOM TRUCK ENTRY!
5. All custom truck entries must be shipped to A&K hobby and received no later than August 4th, 2007 to be included in the judging. In the event that damage occurs during shipping to your truck entry, you will be notified. One of our custom truck builders will be on hand to repair any damage if necessary. It is strongly suggested that you take pictures of your entry before shipping. We also strongly suggest that you insure the package when it is shipped.
6. Photographs will be taken of each entry and posted on our website. 
7. The winning trucks will be on display at the 17th Annual National Toy Truck 'N Construction Show in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 17th, 18th, and 19th.
8. A&K hobby is asking each participant to donate their custom truck entry to be auctioned off on eBay the week following the Indianapolis Toy Show. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the MDA during the Labor Day Telethon at our local television broadcasting site.
9. We will post an announcement regarding the amount of money raised after the charity auctions have ended and the money has been collected.
